14" Greenback Cutthroat Trout from Rocky Mountain National Park, CA.(2002)
This carving was done for my private collection. I have always been partial to cutthroats, particularly the big males when in spawning colors. This one is a real show-stopper with the combination of beautiful reds and yellows dotted with the spot pattern. At one time, it was thought to be extinct. However, when it was found, great effort was made to save this amazing species. It now occurs in Rocky Mountain National Park and in selected streams.
